About This Position
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional nursing care to pediatric patients across diverse healthcare settings in Arizona. The ideal candidate will possess extensive pediatric nursing experience, including critical care, emergency medicine, and outpatient services. As a Travel Peds RN, you will deliver comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications and treatments, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal health outcomes. Perform thorough pediatric patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
Provide specialized care for children requiring complex treatments such as dialysis, ventilator management, or post-operative care in settings like PICU or neonatal units.
Assist with procedures including suturing, catheterization, tube feeding, and wound care while maintaining sterile techniques.
Monitor patients’ physiological parameters and respond promptly to acute pain or emergent situations in high-acuity environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or emergency departments.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans tailored to pediatric patients’ needs.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical documentation of all patient interactions.
Support families through education on medication administration, discharge planning, and home care instructions for children with complex medical conditions.
Requirements
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred)
Minimum of 1 recent year in Peds and 2 yrs of RN experience
Valid RN license in the state of practice, including temporary/interim RN license or compact RN licensure.
Current BLS certification.
Ability to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, stretching, and lifting up to 75 pounds.
Adequate hearing, visual acuity, including color vision.
Fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, and proper body mechanics.
Effective communication skills through reading, writing, and speaking.
Ability to use a computer periodically.
