Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient-centered care across various settings, including long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, and home care environments. Schedule
6:00pm to 10:00pm Five days a week
Weekends as needed
Holidays as needed
Responsibilities
Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Support medical procedures by preparing patients, maintaining aseptic techniques, and assisting with tasks such as catheter care and medication administration under supervision.
Facilitate patient transfers utilizing equipment like Hoyer lifts and ensure safe manual handling practices are followed at all times.
Observe and report changes in patient condition promptly to nursing staff or physicians, especially in critical care or emergency medicine settings.
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations and document all care activities thoroughly in medical records.
Provide emotional support and effective communication tailored to patients’ needs, including those with dementia or behavioral health challenges.
Qualifications
Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program.
Experience working with diverse populations such as geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring memory or hospice care.
Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and basic life support (CPR) procedures.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks) systems for accurate documentation.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and safe patient transfers while adhering to safe lifting practices.
Prior experience in specialized areas such as ICU, emergency medicine, long-term care facilities, or hospital medicine is highly desirable.
Strong caregiver communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient service.
