About This Position

Certified Medical Assistant

Lincoln Family Medical Group is an ever-growing primary care clinic committed to treating the whole person, mind, body, and spirit.

We are currently seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our ever-growing team.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, self-motivated team player who enjoys multitasking and taking initiative in a fast-paced clinical environment. The CMA/LPN plays a vital role in supporting providers, enhancing team communication, and creating a positive experience for patients and coworkers. This position requires working closely with the patient's physician and care team and must uphold the highest standards of patient care.

Essential Duties

Obtain accurate chief complaints, symptoms, and complete medical histories.

Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient charts and clinical documentation

Prepare charts for upcoming visits and provider review

Document preventive care measures and quality metrics

Ensure accurate medication reconciliation

Perform clinical tasks including vital signs, EKGs, spirometry, blood draws, ear irrigation, and specimen collection and preparation

Administer medications, immunizations, and vaccines; maintain accurate vaccine records

Prepare patients for examinations, tests, and treatments

Assist providers with minimally invasive procedures

Communicate patient status, concerns, and pertinent clinical findings to providers clearly and timely through chart review, medication history, lab or imaging results, and direct patient assessment

Follow provider-directed instructions documented in the medical record

Assist with medication refills and medication prior authorizations

Ensure safe and accurate administration and documentation of medications

Provide phone triage and handle accordingly

Communicate test instructions, medication directions, and follow-up plans to patients

Coordinate same-day or urgent appointments

Track and follow up on laboratory results, imaging, and referrals

Educate patients on medications, treatments, preventive care, and follow-up instructions. Reinforce provider instructions and individualized care plans

Schedule appointments and assist with care coordination

Coordinate referrals, outside diagnostics, and follow-up appointments as needed

Promote coordination and communication among all departments

Maintain exam room cleanliness, stocking, and readiness. Monitor medical supply levels and report ordering needs

Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and regulatory requirements

Follow and help maintain all quality, safety, and compliance laws and regulations

Support infection control and safety standards

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license is required.

Prior primary care or clinic experience preferred

Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills

Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care

Ability to be adaptable in an ever-changing healthcare environment

Shift options:

4 days, 10-hour shifts

5 days, 8-hour shifts
