Manager of Regulatory, Quality Assurance & Risk – Salinas/Monterey County, CA

A respected healthcare organization in the Salinas/Monterey County area is seeking an experienced Manager of Regulatory, Quality Assurance & Risk to lead initiatives focused on regulatory compliance, patient safety, quality improvement, and risk management.

This is an excellent opportunity for a healthcare professional with strong quality, compliance, or risk management experience who wants to play a key leadership role in improving patient care and organizational performance.

Position Highlights

$131,476–$173,888 annual salary

Full-time, permanent position

Leadership role within a respected healthcare organization

Lead and coordinate quality and patient safety initiatives

Responsibilities

Lead regulatory, quality assurance, compliance, and risk management programs

Partner with senior leadership, physicians, and staff to promote patient safety and quality care

Coordinate monthly Quality/Patient Safety Committee and other quality-related meetings

Use data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement

Develop and prioritize quality improvement initiatives aligned with organizational goals

Ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations and accreditation standards

Manage the organization's risk management program, including claims and risk financing

Coordinate with insurance providers and defense legal counsel regarding claims and risk matters

Develop and administer risk management education and training programs

Support compliance with The Joint Commission, HIPAA, and other applicable regulatory standards

Serve as a resource for compliance concerns, investigations, and resolution

Collaborate with leadership and other departments to reduce organizational risk and improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field

Experience in healthcare quality, regulatory compliance, risk management, or a related area

Healthcare compliance certification, Healthcare Compliance Fellowship, Healthcare Privacy Compliance certification, Research Compliance certification, or another relevant certification obtained within one year of hire

Preferred

RN, JD, or MBA

Experience working in a healthcare quality or risk management leadership role

Current state clinical license with at least five years of experience in Quality Management may be considered in lieu of certain state licensure requirements

Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Healthcare Quality and Management Certification (HCQM), or Certificate of Professional Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety (CPQPS) within two years of employment
