Description
American Traveler is hiring a BMT RN for a Magnet teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

Inpatient and outpatient Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital

Patients undergoing blood and marrow transplants with CAR T-cell immunotherapy for hematologic cancer diagnoses

Emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration for complex patients across the care continuum

Patient ratio of 1:4

Rotating Day/Night shifts, 3x12 hours (0700-1930 / 1900-0730)

Weekend coverage required on an as-needed basis

Floating within the hospital required, no floating to sister hospitals

No call requirements

Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

Active WA or compact RN license required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience

BLS certification required

Chemo (ONS/ONCC) and OCN certifications preferred

Experience with IV therapy, port access/management, and central line care

Experience administering chemotherapy and biotherapy/immunotherapy preferred

Experience managing bone marrow transplant complications such as graft rejection and graft-versus-host disease preferred

Experience with symptom management, oncologic emergencies, and pain management preferred

Experience caring for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma preferred

EPIC charting experience preferred

Additional Information

Provide direct nursing care to BMT and immunotherapy patients including administration of chemotherapy, biotherapy, and blood products

Coordinate care across inpatient and outpatient settings for complex oncology patients

Manage central lines, ports, and infusion pumps as part of daily responsibilities

Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies such as sepsis, hemorrhage, and anaphylaxis

Provide patient and family education and psychosocial support

Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

RTO limited to a maximum of one week and cannot be requested during the first two weeks of assignment

Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler

COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
