Position: Part-Time Resident Assistant (Evenings)
Location: Countryside Senior Living, Mitchell, SD
Wage: $15–$19/hour
Schedule: Part-Time | Evening Shift (4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.)
Job Summary
Countryside Senior Living is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Resident Assistant to join our evening team. This position plays an important role in helping residents enjoy a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable evening by assisting with personal care, meal service, housekeeping, and daily routines.
Much of your shift will be spent working independently, but you'll also be part of a caring team that supports one another and works together to provide exceptional care for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist residents with evening routines, including personal care, dressing, and showering
· Safely remove compression stockings (TED hose) as needed
· Assist with serving the evening meal and creating a pleasant dining experience
· Help with meal cleanup and dining room preparation
· Perform light housekeeping duties, including tidying resident and common areas
· Assist with laundry as needed
· Respond promptly and respectfully to resident requests for assistance
· Observe residents for changes in condition and communicate concerns to nursing staff
· Maintain resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times
· Follow all infection control, safety, and resident rights policies
· Work cooperatively with nurses and fellow team members to provide outstanding resident care
Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED preferred
· Previous experience in caregiving, housekeeping, food service, or customer service is helpful but not required—we're happy to train the right person
· Compassionate, dependable, and patient with a genuine desire to serve seniors
· Ability to work independently while contributing to a positive team environment
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, lifting, and assisting residents safely
