About This Position
Job Summary
Weekend CNA / Caregiver Needed
Location: Wausau
Schedule: Saturdays & Sundays (8- to 12-hour shifts available)
Position Type: Part-Time / Weekend Caregiver
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and highly experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide dedicated 1-on-1 care in a private home setting over the weekend.
Our family/care team deeply values dignity, safety, and meaningful connection. Because of the specific needs involved, hands-on experience with both dementia and Parkinson’s disease is strictly required. We need a caregiver who truly understands the physical and cognitive nuances of these conditions and brings patience, empathy, and consistency every shift.
Core Responsibilities
Personal Care & Mobility Support: Assist with safe transfers (utilizing proper body mechanics/gait belt), mobility assistance, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
Specialized Condition Management: Safely manage mobility challenges related to Parkinson’s (such as freezing gait or tremors) and navigate cognitive changes, confusion, or agitation associated with dementia using redirection and gentle validation.
Routine & Meal Assistance: Prepare light meals, prompt timely medication, and maintain a calm, structured routine.
Companionship: Engage in soothing activities, conversation, and active listening.
Key Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
Active Certification: Current CNA or equivalent professional caregiving credential.
Proven Experience: Direct, verifiable experience supporting individuals diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and dementia/Alzheimer’s.
Dependability: Absolute reliability and punctuality—our weekend routines depend on a caregiver who shows up consistently and on time.
Transportation: Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and personal reliable transportation.
Qualities: Patient, calm under pressure, attentive to detail, and warmly engaged.
What We Offer
Competitive Pay: Based on experience and qualification.
Consistent Schedule: Dedicated Saturday and Sunday hours (8- to 12-hour shifts).
Supportive Environment: Clear care plans, transparent communication, and respect for your professional expertise.
