Description
American Traveler is hiring an interim Director of Nursing to provide leadership in a post-acute long-term care setting during a management transition, requiring an active Nursing Home Administrator license and prior LTC administration experience.
Details
Post-acute long-term care (LTC) facility setting within the RNC unit
Interim leadership role covering DON duties during a management transition, including working the floor to cover shifts as needed
Day shift schedule with 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week
Uses Point Click Care (PCC) as the charting system
Requirements
Active SD or compact RN license required
BLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of experience required for the role
2 solid years of experience as a long-term care administrator required
Bachelor's degree required, with preference for a Health Care Administration degree
Current Nursing Home Administrator's license issued by the state of practice required
Active member of a Christian church
Strong financial understanding and general knowledge of reimbursement practices
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflict and embrace workplace diversity
Understanding of state and federal regulations and statutes governing long-term care
Driver's license required for consideration
Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
Additional Information
Oversee overall leadership and management of the facility, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational stability
Direct infection prevention and control activities, including assigning responsibility and providing necessary resources
Lead and maintain a culture of safety, including scheduled inspections and corrective actions
Ensure resident rights are protected and HIPAA compliance is maintained
Oversee the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program, including leading monthly QAPI committee meetings and reviewing improvement initiatives
Supervise assigned employees, including hiring, training, performance management, and addressing complaints
Travel to the facility location required
Candidates must reside within an 80-mile radius of the facility, with local candidates accepted at a lower rate
