Hospice Weekend Flex RN
Location: Puget Sound Area
Schedule: Full-Time | 3 or 4 x10-hour shifts
Compensation: $108,000 - $130,000/annually + Benefits

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Hospice RN to support our growing interdisciplinary team. The Hospice Weekend Flex Nurse provides essential care and support to patients and families during weekend hours, along with one or two additional weekdays. This position offers a flexible 3 or 4-day workweek with 10-hour shifts, including weekend coverage and one to two weekdays. Care is provided in various settings, including private homes, assisted living communities, and skilled nursing facilities. This role focuses on responding to urgent or emergency needs, managing symptoms, and ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients.

Primary Responsibilities
Provide compassionate, high-quality care focused on pain and symptom management for hospice patients.
Respond promptly to urgent calls, assess situations, and deliver immediate interventions as needed.
Administer and adjust medications, monitoring effectiveness for optimal comfort.
Collaborate with the care team to ensure continuity and address urgent patient needs.
Support and educate families, offering guidance and reassurance.
Maintain accurate documentation of care, assessments, and interventions.
Manage emergencies and coordinate with the on-call team for additional support.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and follow hospice care protocols.
Requirements:
Education & License: Active WA RN license required; hospice/palliative care certification (CHPN) a plus.
Experience in hospice or palliative care settings is preferred, along with a strong understanding of end-of-life care principles and best practices.
Strong clinical assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
Certifications: BLS required.
Proficient with EHR systems and healthcare technologies.
Ability to work independently, respond to crises, and adapt to diverse social, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and auto liability insurance.
