Fathers Heart Home Care is a locally owned supportive home care agency serving adults and children with physical disabilities and aging-related needs through IRIS and Family Care.
Our mission is to provide consistent, dignified care that allows clients to remain safely in their homes while supporting families and caregivers as one team.
Weekday On-Call Role
This is a senior-level position providing structured coverage and on-call field support during designated week days.
Weekday Coverage Schedule
Coverage Window: 8:00 AM – 8:00 AM (24hrs)
Regular On-Call Schedule: One to three days a week (MWF currently available)
Opportunity to pick up additional weekday shifts if desired at standard base rate.
On-Call Expectations
During your assigned on-call day, you must:
Remain available within the coverage window
Respond to urgent call-offs or coverage needs
Travel to client homes within a reasonable timeframe
Communicate promptly with the Fathers Heart office
Provide stability for higher-acuity or complex cases
Be comfortable working around client pets (cats/dogs)
Be comfortable working around smoke
Experienced with supportive equipment (e.g. Hoyers, sit-to-stands)
Maintain valid drivers license and auto insurance.
Scheduled shifts are provided in advance when possible but can adjust due to client needs.
Compensation
$50 stipend per designated on-call day (earned for remaining available 8AM -8AM)
$21–$24 per hour for all hours worked
Mileage reimbursement $.72/mile during shift and between client homes
Additional premium pay for extended or urgent shifts
Healthcare Stipend after 90 days of employment.
Responsibilities
Assist with ADLs including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
Perform safe mechanical lift transfers (Hoyer/ceiling lifts)
Prepare meals and support healthy nutrition
Monitor client condition and report changes promptly
Support with medications per care plan
Provide companionship and cognitive engagement
Maintain a clean and safe home environment
Document care accurately in agency systems
Requirements
Experience in home care, assisted living, nursing home, or similar setting
CNA preferred; CPR & First Aid required
Strong experience with mechanical lifts
Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and insurance
Strong communication and observation skills
Ability to safely perform physical caregiving tasks
Professional, dependable, and compassionate
Ability to work with clients who have pets or make smoke in-home.
