About This Position
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive healthcare services within a correctional facility's long-term care (LTC) unit.
* 40 hours/wk( Nights)
* AM/PM also available
* Corrections ( LTC/Clinic)
* Paid weekly
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation.
Administer medications and injections accurately while adhering to aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations.
Manage complex clinical procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, suturing, tube feeding, ventilator management, and ostomy care.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across hospital medicine, emergency medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, palliative medicine, and occupational health.
Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health records systems like EMR/EHR systems ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards.
Educate patients and their families on health management strategies including nutrition counseling and discharge planning.
Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to prevent the spread of infectious diseases within the correctional environment.
Qualifications
Valid RN license with current state licensure.
Extensive clinical experience across multiple specialties including ICU, emergency room, hospital medicine, long-term care (LTC), assisted living facilities, hospice & palliative medicine, behavioral health, pediatrics (including neonatal intensive care), and post-acute care settings.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks preferred.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
Experience administering injections and IV therapy; familiarity with ventilator management and sterile processing is advantageous.
Ability to handle complex cases involving trauma medicine or acute pain management; experience working with people with disabilities or developmental challenges is a plus.
Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law applicable to healthcare providers within correctional facilities is desirable.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
