Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a TX or compact license and at least one prior travel contract.
Details
Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a Short Term Acute Care hospital with 379 staffed beds and Level II Trauma Center designation
Day shift, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:00)
Patient ratio of 1:5
Floating between units required
Every other weekend required
No on-call requirements
Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at submission
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
At least one prior travel contract required (seasoned traveler)
Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and telemetry monitoring required
Skilled in cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Experience with feeding tube care and management preferred
Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management preferred
Experience with oxygen administration and high flow nasal cannula preferred
Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit, monitoring cardiac rhythms and managing dysrhythmias
Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and provide wound care as needed
Dress code requires solid navy blue scrub attire for licensed nursing staff
Free parking available in designated employee/visitor lots
Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
RTO requests must be submitted upfront; limited flexibility for changes after offer
Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius
Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the same health system
First-time travelers are not eligible; at least one prior travel contract is required
