Seasonal / Per Diem Position
Position Summary
We are seeking dependable and professional nurses to provide onsite influenza vaccinations at workplace and community vaccination clinics. The Onsite Flu Vaccination Nurse will be responsible for preparing the vaccination station, screening participants, administering vaccines safely, documenting services accurately, and managing clinic supplies.
This is a mobile position that requires travel to scheduled clinic locations. Nurses must have reliable transportation and be able to pick up vaccination supplies before the clinic and return or ship supplies and documentation afterward.
Primary Responsibilities
Travel to assigned onsite vaccination clinics.
Pick up vaccines, medical supplies, paperwork, and equipment before scheduled events.
Transport and store vaccines according to applicable temperature and cold-chain requirements.
Arrive on time and set up a clean, organized, and professional vaccination station.
Verify participant identity and review consent forms.
Screen participants for allergies, contraindications, precautions, and relevant medical history.
Provide appropriate vaccine education and answer participant questions.
Administer influenza vaccinations according to established clinical protocols and provider orders.
Monitor participants for immediate reactions following vaccination.
Recognize and respond appropriately to adverse reactions, including allergic reactions or anaphylaxis.
Accurately document vaccine administration, including vaccine name, manufacturer, lot number, expiration date, injection site, route, date, and administering nurse.
Maintain participant confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
Track vaccine usage, wasted doses, and remaining inventory.
Clean and break down the vaccination area after the event.
Package and ship or return unused vaccines, supplies, equipment, and completed documentation according to company instructions.
Communicate promptly with the clinical coordinator regarding delays, incidents, supply concerns, or documentation issues.
Follow infection-control, sharps-safety, and biohazard-disposal procedures.
Required Qualifications
Current and unrestricted RN, LVN, or LPN license in the state where services will be provided.
Current Basic Life Support or CPR certification.
Experience administering intramuscular injections.
Knowledge of vaccine screening, administration, documentation, and adverse-reaction procedures.
Ability to work independently while following written clinical protocols.
Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
Professional communication and customer-service skills.
Ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
Reliable transportation is required.
Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
Ability to travel to different clinic locations and pick up, transport, return, or ship supplies.
Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with flu clinics, immunizations, occupational health, public health, or community-based nursing.
Experience working at mobile or onsite health events.
Familiarity with vaccine temperature monitoring and cold-chain procedures.
Experience responding to vaccine-related adverse reactions.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods during vaccination events.
Ability to repeatedly perform intramuscular injections.
Ability to lift and transport supply containers weighing up to approximately 25 pounds.
Ability to set up and break down tables, clinical supplies, signage, and equipment.
Ability to safely transport vaccines and temperature-sensitive materials.
Schedule and Travel
This is a seasonal, per diem position. Clinic schedules may include early mornings, daytime hours, evenings, or weekends depending on client needs. Nurses may be assigned to multiple locations and must be willing to travel within the designated service area.
Reliable transportation is a mandatory requirement for this position.
For this event it consists of three days with the following schedule
9/22: Times: 1:00 pm - 2:00pm & 2:30pm - 4:30pm
9/26:Times: 12:00 pm - 2:00pm
9/28: Times: 11:00am -12:30pm, 6:00pm – 7:00pm, & 11:00pm – 11:30pm
Professional Expectations
The Onsite Flu Vaccination Nurse must represent the organization professionally and provide every participant with a safe, efficient, respectful, and positive vaccination experience. Nurses are expected to follow all clinical protocols, arrive prepared and complete all required documentation and supply-return procedures after each event.
Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
