About This Position
Calling all #AWESOME Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) who call King County, Washington home!
Pay: $55/hour, plus completion bonus, if signing up for the full event. Paid breaks. Meals and snacks provided.
Job type: 1099 Independent Contractor, short-term event (3 days). This is NOT a travel nurse assignment.
Ever wished for the kind of nursing where people are genuinely happy to see you walk up, and you leave each day feeling like you actually made someone's life a little better? Then you've found the right team.
At Childress Nursing Services (CNS), we're local, and we're proud of it. We're your neighbors, caring for the families and communities right here where we all live, work, and play. This event is part of our community health and wellness improvement initiative, an extension of our Family Home Nurse program, and we're bringing together a small, hand-picked crew of wonderful nurses to make it special.
Here's the thing that makes us different. Everything is set up and ready for you. An experienced Childress nurse lead will be onsite to help the team throughout the event, so no "throwing you in the ocean," as that is not our company culture nor style. No supplies mailed to your home, no hauling and setting up, no tearing down and shipping paperwork back. You simply show up with a smile, connect with people, and do the good work you love. Our events are warm, upbeat, and low-stress: real conversations, a friendly crew that has each other's backs, and honestly, a lot of fun in between. When you're with Childress, you're family. And here's a little secret: many of our favorite team members first met us at an event just like this one. We love these events for the work itself, and also because they help us discover wonderful nurses who may be a great fit for our home-based nursing openings down the road. If ongoing home-based work is something you're hoping for, this is a beautiful way for us to get to know each other.
The onsite Seattle event (preference will be given to those available all 3 days):
(Note: you'll be requested to show up 15 minutes early each day for check-in & group huddle)

What you'll need to join us:
A little about the testing (no worries if it's new to you!): Have you already done employer wellness or biometric screening tests? Wonderful, that's great! But if you haven't, please don't count yourself out. Childress Nursing Services is known for our accepting, unique nurse training approach. We're happy to train the right person. We'll provide free online training links for the relevant tests, and we just ask that you complete them and send your certificates to us at least 4 days before the event start (by September 18, 2026). We pay attention to the little things here, and when our screening question asks for your favorite color, that is simply our way of getting to know the whole you. Easy and no cost to you.
A note on how we hire: This isn't first-come, first-served. We hire for heart and fit, the right people for our team and the community we serve, so not every application will move forward. We're building something special, and we're thoughtful about who joins the family. If this sounds like your kind of team, we'd love to meet you.
To apply: Send us your resume with a quick note confirming you live in King County and can pass a background check. Then, go to www.ChildressNursing.com/careers and click "Apply Now." We'll share the rest when we talk!
