PROGRAM BENEFITS

  • Sign-on bonus payments are distributed after 6, 12, 18, and 24 months of employment following successful completion of the CNA Training Program.

  • October 27th – November 12th
  • Schedule Highlights:
  • No weekend classes
  • No class on October 30
  • Regular class hours: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Clinical Day – November 6
  • 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. OR
  • 2:15 p.m. – 9:45 p.m.
  • Lab Day – November 9
  • 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Upon successful completion of the CNA Training Program, participants will provide compassionate, resident-centered care while supporting the health, comfort, and dignity of those we serve.

    CNA Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide direct personal care and assistance to residents in accordance with their individualized care plans.
  • Maintain a safe environment for residents, visitors, and coworkers by following all established safety policies, procedures, and infection control practices.
  • Assist residents with transfers using mechanical lifts and safe transfer techniques, including frequent exertion of up to 60 pounds as required.
  • Transport residents safely throughout the facility, including frequent pushing and pulling of wheelchairs and other transport equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Encourage resident participation in activities and social engagement programs and assist with transportation as needed.
  • Make and change bed linens according to established procedures and resident preferences.
  • Respect and uphold resident rights at all times, including dignity, privacy, independence, and confidentiality of resident information.
  • Provide compassionate care and support to residents and their families during end-of-life care and the dying process.
  • Accurately document resident information and observations in the medical record and promptly report changes or concerns to the charge nurse.
  • Demonstrate Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center's customer service standards of excellence in all interactions with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support resident care and facility operations.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to complete required training, competency evaluations, and certification testing.
  • Successfully pass required drug screening, criminal background check, certification registry review, and employment verification.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality; full participation in all nurse aide training sessions is required for successful program completion.
  • Successfully pass the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification examination and meet all additional program requirements.
  • Employees at Missouri Slope are required to receive the annual influenza vaccination as a condition of employment. Successful candidates must either get the vaccination (which is covered by the employer), provide proof of a current vaccination, or obtain an approved accommodation on their start date. This requirement is in place to safeguard the health and safety of our employees, patients/clients, and the community we serve, in alignment with state and federal health guidelines. Exemptions may be made for medical reasons (e.g., documented allergy or medical contraindication) or sincerely held religious beliefs that prevent vaccination.
