Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our fast-paced, high-energy healthcare team. Duties:
Perform rapid patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed triage evaluations to prioritize care based on acuity levels.
Administer medications and treatments such as IV infusions, suturing, and medication administration with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
Utilize EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner to document patient information accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Manage acute pain management for critically ill patients in accordance with established protocols.
Lead emergency response efforts such as trauma medicine in a Level I or Level II trauma center setting.
Provide patient education on discharge planning, post-acute care options including hospice & palliative medicine, and follow-up instructions to ensure continuity of care.
Support patients with complex needs such as those with developmental disabilities or memory care requirements by applying specialized nursing approaches.
Experience
Proven experience working in emergency room settings within hospital environments, preferably in Level I or Level II trauma centers.
Critical care experience including ICU or PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) is highly desirable for managing complex cases.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
Strong background in medical-surgical nursing with knowledge of ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for diagnostic evaluation and billing purposes.
Skills in trauma medicine, acute pain management, infectious disease care, and occupational health are advantageous.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required to ensure readiness for emergency response situations.
