About This Position

Southwest Dakota Human Service Zone is hiring a Part-Time Direct Care Associate in Hettinger or Bowman, North Dakota

Southwest Dakota Human Service Zone is seeking a Direct Care Associate who will connect with the elderly and disabled citizens of the State of North Dakota to complete daily living activities with the goal of increasing their ability to be independent.

Direct Care Associate example of duties:

  • Provide support with independent living skills and household tasks, including cleaning and meal preparation
  • Offer guidance on personal hygiene and self-care routines, which may include assistance with bathing
  • Foster effective communication skills
  • Provide client transportation
  • Encourage socialization and community engagement

    This position requires daily travel to client homes throughout Adams, Bowman, and Slope Counties. Individual would participate in staffing and required trainings to maintain Qualified Service Provider status.

    To succeed in this position, you should possess strong verbal and written communication skills, computer proficiency, and the ability to collaborate effectively and make sound decisions. A passion for helping others and making a meaningful impact in the community is essential. Attention to detail is critical, as this role requires accurate documentation of activities using electronic visit verification systems and or paper logs.

    To be considered for this role:

    Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of work experience providing direct care to special populations. Active CNA license preferred.

    Would consider applicants for the Direct Care Associate level at a reduced salary, which requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of work experience providing direct care to special populations.

    Must maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance
