American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Level IV NICU position requiring 2+ years of NICU experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Level IV NICU at a Children's Hospital / Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Patient ratios of 1:2-4
Weekend requirement of 6 shifts within a 6-week period on a variable, self-scheduling basis
Block scheduling required
Floating between units required
No on-call responsibilities
Epic EMR used
Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
BLS certification required
NRP Advanced certification required
Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
Level III NICU experience preferred given the unit is Level IV
Epic charting experience required
Proficiency required in neonatal skills including IV therapy, arterial and central line management, UAC/UVC care, and administration of emergency medications
Experience with ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, and oscillators required
Experience with therapeutic hypothermia, phototherapy, and neonatal abstinence syndrome care preferred
Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Provide comprehensive neonatal intensive care to patients ranging from extremely premature infants (<24-28 weeks) to those over 34 weeks gestation
Perform developmental care, patient/family teaching, and support for breastfeeding and NICU-specific feeding methods
Manage complex respiratory support including CPAP, HFNC, and ventilator care, as well as cardiovascular and infectious disease monitoring
Assist with procedures such as lumbar punctures, ICP monitoring, and VP shunt management
Scrub color required: Navy for RNs
Free parking available in any unrestricted space, with bike racks provided
Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
All RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius
