Responsibilities
Provide focused nursing care to pediatric patients in critical care and step-down settings. Monitor patient status, support complex respiratory and cardiovascular care, administer medications as ordered, maintain lines and drains, respond to changes in condition, and document care accurately.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse qualification
- BLS certification
- PALS certification
- Epic charting experience
- Experience assisting with or managing intubation
- BiPAP/CPAP management
- Care of ventilated patients
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
- Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Management of chest tubes
- Suctioning, including ETT and NT
- Ventilator management
- Central line and implanted line care
- PICC line management
- Continuous sedation
- IV vasopressors
- External ventricular drain (EVD) management
- Hydrocephalus and VP shunt care
- ICP monitoring
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Management of dysrhythmias
- Post-cardiac surgery care
- Telemetry and on-unit monitoring
- Isolation precautions and PPE
- Ability to work in Pediatric Step Down and PICU settings
