American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a PCU/Telemetry position requiring at least 1 year of experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown) of a Level II Trauma Center
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
Patient ratio of 1:4
Required to work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Floating required between units
No on-call responsibilities
Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips, including titration and Heparin protocols
Respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
Insulin drip titration experience utilized
Active TX or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
Epic EMR experience required
Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
2 professional references required, covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
Provide telemetry and cardiac monitoring care within a progressive care/stepdown environment
Dress code requires solid navy blue uniforms or scrub attire for licensed nursing staff
Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Previous permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
