American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and a TX or compact RN license.
ICU setting within a short-term acute care hospital with 379 staffed beds
Level II Trauma Center
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3
Floating required between units and sister facilities
Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
No on-call requirements
Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at submission
Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (OCN preferred)
Epic charting system experience required
Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC line management, blood product administration, and arterial line management required
Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care required
Experience with dysrhythmia management and multisystem organ dysfunction preferred
Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
Previous travel nursing experience required
2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Provide direct ICU nursing care including hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and critical medication titration
Dress code requires solid navy blue scrub attire for licensed nursing staff
Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer schedule changes may not be accommodated
Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate, though local candidates are accepted at a lower rate
Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius
Only one submission to a Providence facility allowed at a time
First-time travelers are not being considered for this role given the travel experience requirement
Experience
RN License, BLS Certification, Mechanical ventilation monitoring, Travel nursing, ACLS Certification, Monitoring and managing IVs, Central Line Care, Acute care facility experience, NIHSS Certification, Hemodynamic monitoring system, Blood transfusion, Patient charting, Epic, Arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, Critical illness management
