Join a Specialized Cardiac Care Team
Avera Heart Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) to join its Inpatient Mixed Acuity Unit in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
This unique unit is designed so patients remain in the same room throughout their hospitalization while the level of monitoring and nursing care adjusts based on their changing needs. Every room is equipped with advanced hemodynamic monitoring capabilities, including EKG, invasive and non-invasive pressure monitoring, cardiac output monitoring, and telemetry.
Patients primarily present with cardiac, thoracic, and vascular diagnoses and procedures, with many also experiencing related conditions such as diabetes, renal disease, and pulmonary disease.

Responsibilities
Perform patient assessments
Develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care
Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
Direct, monitor, and evaluate care delegated to non-licensed personnel
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and accurate patient care
Maintain current clinical nursing practice standards
Schedule
Full-time
Rotating 7:00-7:00 shifts
Flexible scheduling to cover all shifts and weekends based on hospital needs
Qualifications
Required
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Minimum one (1) year of adult acute care nursing experience
Current RN license or licensure from a Nursing Licensure Compact state
Preferred
Cardiology or cardiovascular nursing experience
Certifications
BLS within 30 days of employment
ACLS within one year of employment for applicable departments, including PCU
PALS or ENPC within one year of employment for nurses with ED as their home department
