Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery (L&D)
Location: Silverdale, WA 98383
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 12-Hour Days
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality maternal and newborn care in Silverdale, Washington. Candidates must have at least 2 years of nursing experience and prior LDRP experience. The ideal candidate must be comfortable independently attending deliveries, circulating during C-sections, assisting with newborn delivery, and supporting newborn transition immediately after birth.
Responsibilities
Monitor maternal health and fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery.
Assess patients, monitor vital signs, and evaluate fetal heart rate patterns.
Provide nursing care during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
Independently attend deliveries and provide appropriate support during childbirth.
Circulate during Cesarean sections (C-sections) and assist the surgical team as needed.
Assist with catching the baby and supporting the newborn's transition after delivery.
Recognize and respond promptly to maternal and newborn emergencies.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families.
Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately.
Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatric providers, and other healthcare professionals.
Follow infection-control procedures and maternal and newborn safety protocols.
Required Certifications
BLS Certification – Required
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required
Must-Have Experience & Skills
Minimum 2 years of experience – REQUIRED
LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum) experience – REQUIRED
Must be comfortable attending deliveries independently.
Must be comfortable circulating during C-sections.
Must be comfortable assisting with catching the baby and transitioning the newborn.
Strong maternal and fetal assessment skills.
Ability to recognize and respond to obstetric and newborn emergencies.
Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and teamwork skills.
