Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (Electrophysiology Technician) — Travel Contract in Colville, WA

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience
  • Family maternity and OB experience required
  • Patient ratio experience: 1:3
  • Charting system required: Epic
  • Travel experience required: No
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT, Washington state license

Responsibilities

  • Provide adult critical care and emergency department support as assigned
  • Deliver respiratory medications and therapies using protocol-driven processes and appropriate delivery systems
  • Support neonatal/pediatrics equipment and procedures, including assist with high-risk delivery activities
  • Perform pulmonary function testing and related respiratory therapy administration activities
  • Lead and manage/lead experience as required to coordinate care workflows
  • Perform arterial punctures, draw and interpret ABGs, and support oxygen therapy management
  • Participate in patient transport (inter-departmental and ambulance transport) as needed
  • Provide respiratory care for conditions such as aspiration, COVID, and pneumonia
  • Troubleshoot ventilator alarms and assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation

Required Skills & Equipment/Medication Experience

  • Medication delivery systems: aerosol setup mask, aerosol setup trach, Medihaler, Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI)
  • Medication administration experience (including required meds): bicarbonate (required), inhaled Flolan (required), Isuprel (required), ketamine (required), lidocaine (required), perforomist (required), terbutaline sulfate (required), theophylline (required)
  • Additional medication administrations: albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, Mucomyst, nitric oxide (INo), racemic epinephrine, Pulmicort, Spiriva, Tobramycin, Xopenex
  • Neonatal/pediatrics equipment/procedures (including required): apnea monitor (required), assist in high-risk delivery, bivent (required), bubble CPAP, capillary blood gases, CPAP/nasal CPAP/BiPAP, direct intubation (neonatal) (required), direct intubation (peds) (required), ECMO (required), high frequency jet ventilator (required), IMV/SIMV (required), intubation assist, neonatal transports (inter-departmental) (required), oscillating ventilator (required), pressure/volume ventilator (required), umbilical blood gases
  • Pulmonary function experience (including required): bronchial provocation testing (required), cold air studies (required), diffusion testing (required), HAST studies (required), lung volume- helium dilution (required), lung volume- nitrogen washout (required), lung volume- plethysmograph (required), spirometry (required), stress test administration (required), exhaled breath testing
  • Oxygen therapy includes: bag and mask, ET tube, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), hyperbaric (required), oxygen tanks, protocol driven ECMO (required), T-piece, trach collar
  • Professional knowledge/skills: basic EKG, chest physiotherapy, chest physiotherapy: vest, drawing arterial blood gases, interpretation of ABGs, management/lead experience (required)
  • Ventilator management includes: BiPAP, CPAP, flow-by, high frequency jet ventilator (required), high frequency oscillator (required), IMV (required), SIMV, patient transport (inter-departmental and ambulance transport), troubleshooting high pressure alarms, weaning from mechanical ventilation
  • Care of infant/child includes: bronchopulmonary dysplasia (required), near dro
  • Additional care topics: aspiration, COVID, pneumonia
  • Work settings: adult critical care, emergency department
