Requirements

  • Experience: 1 year of RN experience (can screen with 6 months of Med/Surg experience with catheter experience)
  • Travel Experience Required: Yes (seasoned traveler required)
  • Charting System: Preferred, Epic
  • Community Hospital Experience: Preferred
  • Certifications: BLS

Responsibilities

  • Professional knowledge & skills: Universal precautions, proper biohazard waste disposal
  • Patient education & communication: Patient teaching; follow up phone calls
  • Office duties: Chart preparation; pharmacy calls/patient refill requests; scheduling appointments; telephone triage (required)
  • Set up & assist with procedures: Dressing change (required); set up aseptic/sterile procedure trays
  • Medication administration: Emergency medications; nitroglycerin; intramuscular administration
  • Assessment & intake: Obtain vital signs; pain assessment; interpretation of laboratory results; complete patient health questionnaire/history/allergies
  • Specimen collection: Labeling of specimens; urine UA/clean catch
  • Lab testing: Urine dipstick/urinalysis
  • Urology/renal genitourinary: Foley catheter insertion/management; cath exchange is a hard stop
  • Clinic specialties (required): Family Care clinic; Internal Medicine; Triage; Urgent Care; Urology
  • Immunotherapy (required): Intravesicular BCG
