Join our team as a Registered Nurse (ER) in Chewelah, WA

Take on a 13-week travel/contract assignment in Chewelah, WA as an ER Registered Nurse on nights (3x12 hours). You’ll work with a strong mix of adult and pediatric emergency care while supporting guaranteed hours each week.

Position Details

  • Role: Registered Nurse (RN - General), ER RN
  • Location: Chewelah, WA
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Start date: 2026-08-10
  • Shift: Nights, 3x12 hours (19:00–07:00)
  • Guaranteed hours per week: 36
  • Pay: $59.00–$70.00 hourly

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience (required: 1 year)
  • Charge experience: preferred
  • Patient ratio experience: required (1:4)
  • Charting system: Required (Epic)
  • Travel experience: Required (can screen first-time travelers)
  • Certifications (required unless noted):
    • ACLS (required)
    • BLS (required)
    • NRP (required)
    • Highly prefer NRP (also noted)
    • PALS (required)
    • TNCC (required)

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency care across a combined adult/pediatric ER setting
  • Perform triage and rapid clinical decision support
  • Manage respiratory emergencies, including BiPAP/CPAP management and intubation support
  • Support IV therapy and phlebotomy needs, including starting/maintaining IVs and blood product administration
  • Administer and monitor emergency medications, including procedural sedation and continuous IV sedation/paralytics as appropriate
  • Manage cardiac monitoring, including interpretation of dysrhythmias and obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG (required)
  • Respond to shock/trauma presentations, including care for serious traumatic injuries
  • Follow isolation precautions/PPE requirements
  • Recognize and report suspected neglect or abuse
  • Use isolation precautions/PPE and maintain safety during high-acuity moments
  • Document care accurately in Epic

Clinical Skills & Experience (includes required elements)

  • Pediatrics exposure includes: abdominal pain, asthma, burns, epiglottitis, head injury, hyperglycemia, infection, mental/behavioral health conditions, near drowning, poison ingestion, respiratory infection, seizures, sickle cell crisis (required), skin disorders, spinal cord injury, urinary tract infection
  • Psychiatric exposure includes: acute psychosis, drug overdose, managing violent behavior, psychiatric hold, suicidal patient
  • Respiratory exposure includes: BiPAP/CPAP management, care of a ventilated patient, chest tube insertion/management, interpretation of ABGs, intubation
  • IV therapy/phlebotomy includes: blood product administration, starting and maintaining IVs
  • Medications exposure includes: continuous IV paralytics, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration/monitoring
  • Work settings experience includes: General Emergency Department—Combined Adult/Pedi, Pediatric Emergency Department
  • STEMI certified facility experience (required)
  • Stroke certified facility experience (required)
  • Shock/trauma experience includes: gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation
  • Cardiac monitoring & emergency response includes: interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG (required)
  • Professional topics/skills: isolation precautions/PPE, triage
  • Orthopedics: manage/apply splints (required), ortho trauma (required)
  • Neurological: neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury (required), traumatic brain injury (required)
