Requirements

• 2+ years of experience
• Must have NICU level III or IV unit experience
• Charting system required: Epic
• Emergency experience: Emergency Department (required)
• Neonatal/Pediatrics—required equipment/procedures:
  • Direct Intubation (Neonatal) (required)
  • High frequency jet ventilator (required)
  • Oscillating Ventilator (required)
  • Pressure/Volume Ventilator (required)
  • Umbilical blood gases (required)
• Pulmonary function: Spirometry (required)
• Certifications (as listed):
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • CRT, CRT or RRT, or RRT
  • NRP
  • PALS (or PALS or ENPC)
  • RRT
• Travel experience required: No
• Preferred:
  • Trauma Level I experience
  • Trauma Level II experience

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy support across adult critical care, Emergency Department, and NICU settings.
• Support care for patients with conditions including ARDS, aspiration, pneumonia, COVID, and cystic fibrosis, and assist with fresh tracheostomy care as needed.
• Assist in high-risk delivery; support neonatal/pediatric respiratory equipment and procedures including Bubble CPAP and CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BIPAP.
• Perform intubation assist and manage advanced ventilation needs including high frequency jet ventilation and high frequency oscillator support.
• Wean patients from mechanical ventilation and troubleshoot high pressure alarms during ventilator management.
• Administer oxygen therapy using appropriate modalities such as bag and mask, ET tube, HFNC, oxygen tanks, T-piece, and trach collar.
• Support airway management and suctioning, including extubation, suctioning (ETT/NT), suctioning for nasal/oral airways, tracheostomy care/management, and pulmonary hygiene.
• Draw and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs).
• Collect sputum specimens and perform umbilical blood gases when required.
• Support medication administration such as nitric oxide (INo).
• Perform spirometry when required.
• Use Epic for charting/documentation.
