Responsibilities
- Administering medication
- Perform ear lavage
- Rooming patients
- Completing authorization forms
- Chart preparation
- Perform blood glucose checks via glucometer
- Conduct pregnancy testing
- Perform strep testing
- Run urine dipstick/urinalysis
- Support general/family practice workflows
- Support pediatrics workflows
- Perform hearing screening
- Obtain height/weight and vital signs
- Obtain pulse oximetry readings
- Perform vision testing
- Obtain a 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Provide immunizations
- Administer intramuscular injections
- Label specimens accurately
- Collect and manage throat specimens
- Collect urine for UA/clean-catch
- Assist with nebulizer treatments
- Assist with pap smear preparation
- Position/drape patients for exams
- Record history, medications, and allergies
Requirements
- 6 months minimum experience (0.5 year) as a Medical Assistant
- Certification: CMA
- Certification: BLS
- Charting system experience required: Epic
- Comfortable administering medication
- Ability to perform ear lavage
- Experience with adult outpatient clinic and pediatric outpatient clinic workflows
- Experience with authorization forms and chart preparation
- Experience with blood glucose testing via glucometer
- Ability to perform pregnancy testing
- Ability to perform strep testing
- Ability to perform urine dipstick/urinalysis
- Experience with hearing screening and vision testing
- Ability to obtain vital signs, pulse oximetry, and height/weight
- Ability to obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Experience providing immunizations and intramuscular injections
- Experience with specimen labeling and throat specimen collection
- Ability to collect urine for UA/clean-catch
- Ability to assist with nebulizer treatments and pap smear setup
- Ability to position/drape patients and document history/medications/allergies

Experience
