Join our team as a Registered Nurse (OR RN) in Santa Rosa, CA. Take on a 13-week Travel/Contract assignment with guaranteed 36 hours per week on night shift (4x12 hours) from 18:45 to 7:15.

Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care in the OR, including preparing for and supporting procedures across multiple surgical service lines.
- Assist with administration of blood & blood products as needed per case requirements.
- Maintain infection control standards throughout the surgical workflow.
- Follow laser safety and radiation safety procedures when required by the case.
- Ensure proper specimen handling/labeling and adherence to Universal Protocol (time-out).
- Respond appropriately to emergency management needs in the OR, including code response and fire safety procedures.
- Maintain readiness for assigned equipment/instrumentation and support safe, efficient case turnover.
Requirements
- Experience: 3 years required (preference for 5 years) in an OR/trauma-capable setting
- Trauma Level I experience: Required
- Travel experience: Required
- Charting system: Required — Epic
- Certifications: BLS
- Professional knowledge & skills: Universal Protocol (time out) procedure; infection control; specimen handling/labeling; administration of blood & blood products; laser safety; radiation safety
- Work settings: Ambulatory OR required; general OR; trauma exposure
- Trauma experience: Amputations; gunshot/stab wounds; MVA (multiple injuries)
- Gynecology (procedural experience): Abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy required; anterior/posterior repair (colporrhaphy) required; dilation & curettage required
- Vascular (procedural experience): Abdominal aortic aneurysm repair; arteriovenous fistula repair; carotid angioplasty; carotid artery stenting; carotid endarterectomy; femoral popliteal bypass graft
- Plastics (procedural experience): Abdominoplasty; breast augmentation; free flap – microvascular; mastectomy with tram flap reconstruction
- Podiatry (procedural experience): Ankle fusion required; bunionectomy required; hallux vagus arthroplasty/arthrodesis required; metatarsal surgery required
- Professional equipment/instrumentation/supplies: Cell saver required; Hana Table required; electrosurgical units; fiber optic light sources/cords
- Emergency management readiness: Code response; fire safety; latex allergy; malignant hyperthermia
- Robotics (procedural/system experience): Da Vinci Xi Surgical System required; gastrointestinal robotic surgery required; urologic robotic surgery required
- Thoracic (procedural experience): VATS required
- Urology (procedural experience): Cystectomy; cystoscopy; laparoscopic assisted cases; prostatectomy; transurethral resection of the prostate
- Ear/Nose/Throat (procedural experience): Endoscopic sinus procedures; laparoscopic assisted cases; laryngectomy; radical neck dissection; tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy; tracheostomy
- General surgery (procedural experience): Appendectomy; cholecystectomy; colon resection; inguinal/umbilical hernia repair; laparoscopic assisted procedures; thyroidectomy partial/total; Whipple
- Orthopedic (procedural experience): Arthroscopy; carpal tunnel release; closed reduction of fractures; laminectomy/discectomy; open reduction of fractures; ortho/spine; spinal fusion; total joint replacement
- Neurology/Spine (procedural experience): ALIF (Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion); anterior cervical fusion; craniotomy; kyphoplasty; laminectomy/discectomy; lumbar fusion; XLIF (Extreme Lateral Interbody Fusion)
- Bariatrics (procedural experience): Laparoscopic assisted cases
