Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility position requiring at least 1 year of experience and a SD or compact RN license.
Details
Post-acute LTC/SNF setting within a 55-bed geriatric psych facility
Elder population including dementia patients and a smaller group managing schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or paranoia through an established behavioral program
Nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:45 overnight and 1:23 during the day, with a med aide present from 6am-10pm
Uses Point Click Care (PCC) EMR
12-hour day shifts with block scheduling
Every other weekend required
Holiday coverage required if it falls within the assigned block schedule
No on-call or call-back responsibilities
36 guaranteed hours per week for 12-hour shifts
Requirements
Active RN license (SD or compact) required
BSN required
BLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
Geri psych or LTC psych experience preferred
Valid driver's license required for consideration
Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years worked, both including employment dates and rehire eligibility
Additional Information
Provide nursing care to an elderly population including dementia and behavioral health diagnoses within a geri psych LTC facility
Most skilled and COVID-related charting is completed during the day shift
Facility-specific orientation includes training, a facility tour, competency reviews, and the opportunity to shadow 1-2 shifts
Candidates must reside within an 80-mile radius or accept a local adjusted rate
Local candidates are accepted
