Job Description:
Henderson Community Hospital, a ten bed, critical access hospital and part of the Henderson Health Care Services campus, is seeking a limited hours RN or LPN. Our mission is to provide professional, competent, ethical, and compassionate health care, in the name of Christ, to individuals, families and the surrounding communities. The Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for the supervision and direction of total nursing care delivered on their tour of duty on the assigned shift.
Essential Duties:
Assesses patients and gives indicated nursing care.
Accurately records and reports patients’ symptoms, reaction and progress.
Understands the legal aspects of nursing.
Respects the patient as an individual and has a knowledge of his background and history, and keeps this information confidential.
Plans the type and amount of care needed to meet the needs of each patient.
Supervises nursing activities of staff members including LPNs, CNAs and NAs.
Utilizes contacts with patients and families as teaching opportunities.
Participates in the facility’s in-service program.
Knowledgeable of the facility’s policies and procedures and interprets these policies to the patients, families and community.
Familiar with the different levels of care such as outpatient, acute, swing bed, and respite and understands the transfer process into each of these levels.
Knowledgeable of the state and federal rules and regulations
Recognizes and uses the proper channels for communication.
Works closely with the Hospital Nurse Manager and other staff members in presenting and developing procedures designed to improve patient care.
Ability to work any shift including weekends and holidays.
Abides by employee immunization/vaccination policies.
Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Chief Nursing Officer.
Shifts- We are looking to fill two positions; one for day shift, one for night shift
Day Shift (7am-7pm)
Night Shift (7pm-7am)
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Current RN or LPN license required. Bachelors degree (BSN) from a four-year college is desirable. Two years experience in specialty or acute area with supervisory experience is desirable, but will train the right candidate.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certification required. Certifications and renewals must be obtained within a reasonable timeframe as determined by the manager/supervisor.
