Responsibilities
Assist endodontists during root canal treatments and other endodontic procedures by preparing instruments, materials, and the treatment area.
Manage patient flow efficiently, including scheduling, patient management software updates, and ensuring patients are comfortable and informed throughout their visit.
Take high-quality dental x-rays and medical imaging while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection prevention protocols.
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments following strict sterilization procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques at all times.
Support clinical documentation by accurately recording medical records, treatment notes, vital signs, and procedural details in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Maintain dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental chairs, and other clinical tools to ensure optimal functionality.
Uphold clinical confidentiality policies while managing sensitive patient information with professionalism and discretion.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with a focus on endodontics or general dentistry.
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and dental sterilization procedures.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, oral surgery procedures, prosthodontics, and infection control standards.
Experience operating dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and patient management software.
Ability to perform vital signs measurement and assist with medical documentation in compliance with healthcare infection prevention and clinical confidentiality policies.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and healthcare professionals.
Certification in CPR or healthcare infection prevention is preferred; ongoing training in medical terminology and infection control is highly valued.
