About This Position

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced and dependable Seasonal Traveling LVNs to support employee health clinics throughout California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) facilities during the 2026 flu season.

This position provides occupational health services for State employees only — no inmate care involved.

This is an excellent opportunity for LVNs who enjoy travel, independent clinic operations, and providing preventive healthcare services across California.

Position Details

Seasonal Assignment: September 2026 – December 2026

Schedule: Travel 4–5 days per week

Work Location: CDCR facilities throughout California

Work Setting: Mobile employee health clinics

Pay: Starting at $34.00 per hour

End-of-Season Completion Incentive: Additional incentive paid upon successful completion of the full seasonal assignment

Responsibilities

Administer influenza vaccines and other employee immunizations

Perform TB (PPD) testing

Perform blood draws/venipuncture

Provide occupational health screening services for employees

Accurately document clinical services, testing results, and immunizations

Maintain proper vaccine handling and cold-chain procedures

Safely transport, organize, and manage medical equipment and clinic supplies

Provide onsite clinical and administrative support during mobile clinics

Maintain compliance with CDCR facility requirements and professional standards

Qualifications

Active California LVN License (required)

Current BLS Certification (required)

Venipuncture/blood draw experience required

Experience administering vaccines and immunizations preferred

Minimum 1 year of LVN clinical experience preferred

Strong documentation, organization, and communication skills

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced mobile clinic environment

Security Requirements

Must successfully pass a CDCR-required background check and clearance process

Must meet all CDCR facility access requirements prior to assignment

Must maintain professional conduct and compliance while working on CDCR property

Travel Requirements & Benefits

Must have reliable personal transportation

Must be willing to travel 100% during the assignment

Travel 4–5 days per week with occasional overnight hotel stays

Mileage reimbursement provided for qualifying travel

Paid travel time available for eligible travel requirements

Meal allowance/per diem available for qualifying travel assignments

Must be comfortable working independently at multiple CDCR locations throughout California
