Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients in medical-surgical units, including assessments, medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
Perform detailed patient evaluations, including physical examinations and physiological assessments to inform individualized care plans.
Administer medications via IV infusion, injections, and other routes while adhering strictly to aseptic techniques and hospital protocols.
Manage complex cases involving acute pain management, trauma medicine, infectious disease care, and post-operative recovery.
Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient records, medical documentation, and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9).
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and follow-up care to ensure seamless transitions for patients.
Conduct specialized procedures including suturing, catheterization (urinary or vascular), tube feeding management, and ventilator support when necessary.
Participate in triage assessments in urgent care or emergency room settings; respond swiftly to critical situations following critical & intensive care protocols.
Maintain infection control standards through proper specimen collection/processing and sterile processing techniques.
Support patients with diverse needs such as geriatrics, memory care, behavioral health issues, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
Experience
Proven experience working in hospital medicine environments with exposure to ICU or Level I/II trauma center settings preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency in critical care procedures including ventilator management and trauma response; experience in PICU or neonatal resuscitation is advantageous.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; experience with medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) is highly valued.
Background in acute care settings such as emergency medicine or urgent care; experience working with infectious diseases or in a hospital-based environment is essential.
Prior long-term care or skilled nursing experience in nursing homes or assisted living facilities enhances your ability to provide comprehensive patient-centered care.
Knowledge of occupational health standards including Workers’ Compensation law; experience supporting hospice & palliative medicine or geriatrics is a plus.
Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology related to pain management and medication administration; familiarity with laboratory testing procedures is beneficial.

Pay: $2,400.00 - $2,600.00 per week
