American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of experience and a TX or compact RN license in hand.
MS/Tele unit within a Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center hospital
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
Patient ratio of 1:4
Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
Floating between units required
No on-call responsibilities
48-hour work weeks approved
Neuro Tele patient population
Active TX or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of submission
Current BLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
Experience with 1:4 patient ratios
Charting system experience required (any EMR)
Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team protocols required
IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care experience required
Experience with oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management required
Neurological/psychiatric care experience preferred, including aneurysms, craniotomy, CVA, intracranial bleeds, and post-TPA care
Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Provide care to Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and neurological/psychiatric conditions
Dress code requires solid navy blue uniforms or scrub attire for licensed nursing personnel
Free parking available in designated employee/visitor lots
Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted facility
Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the submission process, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Former permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel pay rate
Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
Experience
Cardiac arrest emergency response, Basic airway management, RN License, Cardiac rhythm analysis, Cardiac arrest protocols, BLS Certification, Monitoring and managing IVs, Collecting samples for laboratory testing, Medical-surgical, Clinical information systems, Oxygen equipment, Patient charting, Cardiovascular patient monitoring
