About This Position

This is a Part-Time Overnight Shift Resident Assistant position in The Washington Center Assisted Living which works 11:00 p.m. - 7 a.m. Schedules include every other weekend and every other holiday. This position is 32 hours a pay period.

St. Joseph Residence is a not-for-profit Catholic continuing care community seeking caring, compassionate, and responsible individuals to join our assisted living community to provide personal care and daily enrichment in a faith-based environment, supporting and promoting resident independence, respect, dignity, and community.

Our assisted living communities strives to create a safe and stimulating environment, focusing on socialization and engagement, utilizing a friend-to-friend approach. The resident assistant plays a significant role in engaging our residents in meaningful activities throughout our resident's day.

Primary Shift Responsibilities: This position is responsible for providing direct care services to residents who reside on our community. Overnight shift typically assists residents with morning cares, administers medication, basic laundry and housekeeping services, and leading and assisting with resident engagement activities.

Having a C.N.A. certification is very helpful, but if you don't have C.N.A. certification that is okay. We will provide training and help with assisted living certification for those who possess the skills and attributes we are looking for to join our team.

Resident Assistant Duties Include:

Personal Care: Feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, walking and transferring

Responsible for providing timely treatments and medication administration under delegation of an RN

Participate in customizing resident service plans

Monitor resident condition and address change of condition

Housekeeping service to resident's apartments including laundry, housekeeping

Work in collaboration with residents/family members, coworkers, and other healthcare providers

Responsible for timely and accurate charting in the medical record

Represent the St. Joseph Residence organization in a professional, customer service-oriented manner

Participate in team meetings, performance improvement projects, and ongoing education

State Required Certification Courses: Standard Precautions, Fire Safety, First Aid, Medication Administration

If you are willing to take courses, we will assist you in enrolling in the courses, and you can work while completing the courses

Availability to work every other weekend and alternating holiday schedule

Reliability: Must be punctual, have reliable attendance, and a good work ethic

Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Team Collaboration: Interpersonal skills and the ability to work and contribute to a positive team dynamic

Professional Representation: Maintain a professional demeanor and deliver exceptional customer service while representing the St. Joseph Residence organization and communities
