Beds: 13 (12 L&D; 1 Triage; 1 OR)
Experience: 5 years
First time traveler: Upon review
Patient Types:
Antepartum, postpartum, L&D, Gynecological post-op (hysterectomies and D&Cs), 20 weeks and up
COVID/PPE:
Adequate PPE provided
Patient Ratios:
1:2 Laboring
1:1 active labor
1:3 couplets
various gynecological surgeries
Required Certifications: BLS, NRP, FHM
Skills required: Experience with all the above patients, circulate C-Sections, Recover mom and infant
Support on the Unit:
CNA: 1:13
OB techs serve as scrubs during C-sections
Charge nurse: light assignment
Phlebotomy/RN: draw blood
OB-GYN on call at night
Midwife on call at night
OB-CRNA 24/7 on weekends
FHM monitoring at nurse s station and bedside
Unit secretary 0800-1400
Charting System/Equipment:
EPIC
Alaris
Pyxis
Milktraker
CPN
Floating: None
Orientation: at least one shift on unit to learn flow
Schedule:
Weekend rotation: every other weekend
Manager to approve RTO
No on call
Holiday Expectations: night before and night after Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years
