About This Position
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry care to join our dedicated healthcare team. Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients in medical-surgical and telemetry units, including assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
Monitor vital signs, interpret diagnostic results, and recognize early signs of patient deterioration to initiate appropriate interventions.
Coordinate patient care activities such as wound management, IV infusions, catheterization, and aseptic techniques to prevent infections.
Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate with physicians, specialists (including cardiology and ophthalmology), and support staff to develop individualized care plans.
Educate patients and their families on health management strategies, discharge instructions, and medication regimens.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards and infection control protocols to enhance patient safety.
Skills
Proven proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy relevant to acute care settings.
Experience working with diverse patient populations including those with developmental disabilities, memory care needs, or in hospice & palliative medicine.
Skilled in performing complex procedures such as suturing, laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, and tube feeding management.
Critical care experience in ICU or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable; familiarity with trauma medicine and emergency response procedures is a plus.
Ability to manage acute pain cases effectively while demonstrating excellent triage skills in urgent or emergency situations.
Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), laboratory testing procedures, infection control practices, and HIPAA compliance standards.
Competence in handling ventilator management, cardiac catheterization monitoring, telemetry interpretation, and aseptic technique adherence.
Experience working within hospital medicine or outpatient settings such as clinics or ambulatory surgery centers is advantageous.
