American Traveler is hiring a Level IV NICU RN for a night-shift position requiring 2+ years of NICU experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Level IV NICU within a Children's Hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
Night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Patient ratios of 1:2-4
Block scheduling required with 6 weekend shifts self-scheduled within a 6-week period
Floating between units required
No on-call requirements
Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
BLS and NRP Advanced certifications required
Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required, with Level III experience preferred
Epic EMR experience required
Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC, and neonatal medication administration
Experience with ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, oscillators, and other respiratory support skills
Skilled in neonatal assessment including APGAR scoring, developmental care, and thermoregulation
2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required
Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Care for neonates across a range of gestational ages, including those under 24-28 weeks and over 34 weeks
May float between sister facilities within the region as needed
Navy scrub color required for RNs
Free parking available in unrestricted spaces with bike racks
Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
RTO requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Contracts longer than 13 weeks may be available for candidates interested in extended assignments
Experience
NRP Certification, NICU experience, RN License, Patient assessment, BLS Certification, Pediatric unit experience, Invasive monitoring, Working with pediatric populations, Medication pass administration, Monitoring and managing IVs, Central Line Care, Pediatric critical & intensive care, High-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) machines, Neonatology, Clinical information systems, Neonates
