About This Position
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in cardiovascular and interventional radiology procedures, with a focus on cath lab operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide specialized nursing care in a fast-paced, travel environment, supporting patients through complex cardiac and vascular interventions. The successful RN will demonstrate proficiency in advanced cardiac procedures, patient assessment, and maintaining sterile techniques, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and safety throughout their care journey.
Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, angiography, and other interventional procedures within the catheterization laboratory.
Prepare patients for procedures by conducting thorough assessments, explaining procedures, and ensuring informed consent is obtained.
Monitor vital signs, hemodynamic data, and patient responses during procedures, promptly addressing any complications or adverse reactions.
Maintain strict aseptic technique and sterile field protocols to prevent infection and ensure procedural safety.
Assist physicians with advanced interventions such as pacemaker insertions, electrophysiology studies, and botulinum toxin treatments for neurological or ophthalmological conditions.
Document all patient interactions, procedural details, and clinical observations accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including cardiologists, radiologists, and anesthesiologists to coordinate seamless patient care.
Requirements
Must have a minimum of 1 recent year of Cath Lab RN experience and 2 years RN experience
Valid RN licensure
BLS certification
ACLS certification
Cardiac clinical experience
Experience in moderate sedation
Hemodynamic monitoring experience
Circulating cardiac procedures experience
EpicScrub experience (preferred but not mandatory)
