RN Supervisor - Weekend AM ShiftOverview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor to lead our weekend day shift team in a skilled nursing facility. The RN Supervisor is responsible for overseeing nursing operations, ensuring high-quality resident care, supporting nursing staff, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
The ideal candidate is a strong clinical leader with excellent communication skills, a commitment to resident-centered care, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced long-term care environment. This position plays a critical role in promoting positive clinical outcomes, staff accountability, and exceptional customer service for residents and families.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide clinical supervision and leadership to licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants during the weekend AM shift.
Ensure delivery of quality nursing care in accordance with physician orders, resident care plans, facility policies, and regulatory requirements.
Perform resident assessments and evaluate changes in condition, initiating appropriate interventions and physician notifications as needed.
Monitor and support completion of treatments, medication administration, documentation, and resident care responsibilities.
Respond to resident emergencies, incidents, and clinical concerns, providing guidance and support to nursing staff.
Conduct rounds throughout the facility to ensure resident needs are met and quality standards are maintained.
Review and follow up on admissions, transfers, discharges, and significant changes in resident condition.
Communicate effectively with physicians, residents, family members, department leaders, and interdisciplinary team members.
Assist with staffing coordination, assignment adjustments, and shift coverage as needed.
Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, safety standards, and resident rights.
Complete and review clinical documentation accurately and timely within PointClickCare (PCC).
Investigate and document incidents, accidents, and resident grievances according to facility policy.
Support quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
Mentor, coach, and educate nursing staff to promote clinical excellence and professional growth.
Participate in facility surveys and assist with maintaining regulatory readiness at all times.
Qualifications
Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Minimum of one (1) year nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, rehabilitation, or post-acute setting preferred.
Previous charge nurse or supervisory experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, infection control practices, and nursing standards.
Experience using PointClickCare (PCC) electronic medical records system preferred.
Excellent assessment, clinical decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead and support staff in a collaborative and professional manner.
Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities.
