About This Position
Summary: Operates multi-line telephone system to answer incoming calls, directs callers to appropriate personnel, greeting patients as they enter the practice, and inputting patient data into the EHREssential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Answers telephone, responds to inquiries, directs caller to appropriate personnel, and initiates triage slips for response by medical personnel.
Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are unavailable.
Answers questions about organization and provides callers with address, directions, and other information.
Registers patients by verifying that patient's record is up to date and accurate. Makes appropriate changes in computer system and on patient's chart.
Greets and directs patients, sales people, and visitors.
Schedules appointments and enters appointment date, time and reason for being seen into computerized scheduler updates appointment calendars.
Takes payments for services and products. Performs other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, photocopying, and collating.
