Shift / Schedule
- Day Shift
- 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
- 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in radiology or cardiology CT technology
- Proficient in Epic charting system (required)
- Preferred experience in teaching hospitals, community hospitals, and Level I trauma centers
- Travel experience: 1st time travelers must have at least 2 years of experience
- Certifications required: ARRT CT, ARRT R, and BLS
- Demonstrated expertise with Philips imaging equipment (required); experience with GE and PACS is a plus
- Strong skills in image display and post processing, including:
- 3D rendering (maximum intensity projection, surface shaded displays, volume rendering)
- Multiplanar reconstruction (MPR)
- Region of interest (ROI) measurement
- Proficient in abdomen and pelvis imaging studies, including colorectal studies with rectal contrast, enterography, intravenous pyelogram, and pelvis imaging with or without contrast
- Experienced in work settings such as Adult and Pediatric Acute Care (required), Adult and Pediatric Outpatient settings (required), Emergency Department, ICU, Level I and Level II Trauma Centers
- Skilled in special procedures including aspirations, biopsies, colonography/virtual colonography, CT arthrography, drainage, myelography, PET CT, radiation therapy planning, and transplant studies
- Experience with chest imaging including heart (calcium scoring, coronary angiography) and vascular chest studies (pulmonary embolism, CTA, aorta)
- Proficient in professional knowledge and skills including:
- Isolation precautions and PPE
- Preparation and administration of contrast media
- Radiation safety
- Starting peripheral IVs and venipuncture (required)
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT imaging studies in radiology and cardiology settings following protocol standards and patient safety guidelines
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, with strong proficiency in Philips systems and related technology
- Execute complex post-processing techniques including 3D rendering and multiplanar reconstructions to aid accurate diagnosis
- Collaborate closely with radiologists, cardiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver optimal patient care
- Prepare and monitor patients for imaging procedures, including the administration of contrast media and catheter placement when necessary
- Adhere strictly to infection control policies and radiation safety standards to protect patients and staff
- Document procedures accurately using Epic charting system and maintain precise clinical records
- Conduct specialized imaging procedures such as biopsies, aspirations, colonography, CT arthrography, PET CT scans, and transplantation imaging studies
- Assist in emergency and trauma care settings, leveraging experience in Level I and II trauma centers
- Continuously stay updated on advances in imaging technology and contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- ARRT certifications in CT and Radiography (R)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum of 1 year of CT technologist experience with demonstrated competence in advanced imaging techniques
- Familiarity with various clinical environments, especially pediatric acute care and outpatient settings
- Strong technical skills with Philips equipment, supplemented by knowledge of GE and PACS
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness and ability to travel if required, with requisite experience
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly Rate: $66.00 - $78.00
