Join Our Team as a Registered Nurse – Case Management RN in Anchorage, AK

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Case Management team. Schedule

  • Day Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Workweek: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
  • Proficient in Epic charting system (required)
  • Certified Case Manager for Registered Nurses (ACM-RN) (required)
  • Alaska RN License (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
  • Experience in acute hospital settings, including Emergency Department, NICU, Pediatrics, PICU, and Women’s Services (required)
  • Familiarity with case management and utilization review processes
  • Knowledge and compliance with regulatory standards including CMS, Department of Health, HIPAA, ICD-10 coding, The Joint Commission, and Workers Compensation
  • Proficient in InterQual and Milliman guidelines for medical necessity determinations (required)
  • Experience with admission criteria, pre-certification and prior authorization reviews (required)
  • Preferred: Experience in Community Hospital, LTAC, and Level II Trauma settings
  • Travel experience: Not required

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate care by working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement plans of care
  • Perform thorough needs assessments and assist in ordering Durable Medical Equipment (DME) as indicated
  • Conduct continued stay reviews, ensuring adherence to evidence-based guidelines to determine medical necessity
  • Complete pre-certification reviews and prior authorization processes efficiently and accurately
  • Apply InterQual and Milliman guidelines consistently to maintain compliance with clinical criteria
  • Manage workers’ compensation case assignments in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements
  • Maintain accurate and timely charting utilizing the Epic system, ensuring documentation meets regulatory standards including ICD-10 coding
  • Ensure all activities comply with CMS, Department of Health, HIPAA privacy regulations, The Joint Commission Core Measures, and National Patient Safety Goals
  • Provide education and guidance to patients and families, facilitating smooth transitions across the care continuum

Qualifications

  • Current Alaska Registered Nurse license and ACM-RN certification
  • Minimum of two years in a nursing role within acute care settings
  • Strong knowledge of case management principles and utilization review standards
  • Demonstrated experience with regulatory requirements and quality measures in healthcare
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to manage complex patient cases
  • Proficiency in Epic electronic medical record system
  • Current BLS certification
