• Trauma Level I experience (required)

Core Surgical & Specialty Case Coverage

You should be comfortable circulating/supporting a broad OR mix, including the following specialty areas and procedures.

• Vascular: Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair, Arteriovenous fistula repair, Carotid angioplasty, Carotid artery stenting, Carotid Endarterectomy, Femoral popliteal bypass graft
• Gynecology (required): Abdominal/ Vaginal hysterectomy, Anterior/Posterior Repair (Colporrhaphy), Dilation & Curettage
• Plastics: Abdominoplasty, Breast augmentation, Free Flap - Microvascular, Mastectomy with tram flap reconstruction
• Professional knowledge & skills: Administration of blood & blood products, Infection control, Laser Safety, Radiation Safety, Specimen Handling/labeling, Universal Protocol (Time out) Procedure
• Neurology: ALIF (Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion), Anterior cervical fusion, Craniotomy, Kyphoplasty, Laminectomy/discectomy, Lumbar fusion, XLIF (Extreme Lateral Interbody Fusion)
• Work settings: Ambulatory OR (required), General OR, Trauma
• Trauma: Amputations, Gunshot/stab wounds, MVA (multiple injuries)
• Podiatry (required): Ankle fusion, Bunionectomy, Hallux vagus arthroplasty/arthrodesis, Metatarsal surgery
• General Surgery: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, Laparoscopic assisted procedures, Thyroidectomy partial/total, Whipple
• Orthopedic: Arthroscopy, Carpal tunnel release, Closed reduction of fractures, Laminectomy/discectomy, Open reduction of fractures, Ortho/Spine, Spinal Fusion, Total joint replacement
• Equipment / instrumentation / supplies (required items noted): Cell saver (required), Electrosurgical units, Fiber optic light sources/cords, Hana Table (required)
• Emergency management: Code response, Fire Safety, Latex Allergy, Malignant Hyperthermia
• Urology: Cystectomy, Cystoscopy, Laparoscopic assisted cases, Prostatectomy, Transurethral resection of the prostate
• Robotics (required): Da Vinci Xi Surgical System (required), Gastrointestinal robotic surgery (required), Urologic robotic surgery (required)
• Ear/Nose/Throat: Endoscopic sinus procedures, Laparoscopic assisted cases, Laryngectomy, Radical neck dissection, Tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, Tracheostomy
• Bariatrics: Laparoscopic assisted cases
• Thoracic (required): VATS (Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery) (required)
• Additional skills: See Special Equipment

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and support surgical team workflow for a variety of procedures
• Maintain patient safety standards and support universal protocol (time-out) procedures
• Use Epic documentation practices accurately and timely
• Support infection control and safety processes during all case types
• Assist with medication and blood/product administration workflows as required
• Follow emergency response protocols (including code response) and OR safety practices
