Responsibilities
- Provide speech-language evaluation and treatment services within the assigned care environment.
- Develop and carry out individualized therapy plans in collaboration with the care team.
- Monitor patient progress, update treatment approaches, and document care accurately.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Charting system experience required; any charting system is accepted.
- Travel experience is not required.
- Work setting experience with acute care, outpatient clinics, rehabilitation hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities (SNFs).
- Assessment knowledge: body mechanics.
- Orthopedic knowledge: cervicalgia, low back pain, post-operative cervical surgery, post-operative shoulder repair, post-operative spinal surgery, spinal conditions, total hip replacement, and total knee replacement.
- Neurologic knowledge: cognitive disorders, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease, post-stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury.
- Professional skills and knowledge: home exercise program and patient/family education.
