Responsibilities
- Provide speech-language pathology services to patients in a home health setting.
- Evaluate patient needs, develop appropriate treatment approaches, and monitor progress.
- Deliver individualized therapy and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team.
- Complete timely clinical documentation using the required charting system.
Requirements
- Current BLS certification
- Charting system experience with any system required
- Work setting experience in acute care, outpatient clinic, rehabilitation hospital, and skilled nursing facility (SNF)
- Assessment knowledge of body mechanics
- Orthopedic experience with cervicalgia, low back pain, post-op cervical surgery, post-op shoulder repair, post-op spinal surgery, spinal conditions, total hip replacement, and total knee replacement
- Neurologic experience with cognitive disorders, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease, post-stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
- Professional skills and knowledge in home exercise program development and patient family education
