Requirements and Skills
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa
- Strong knowledge of outpatient nursing principles and practices
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Ability to assess patient conditions and develop care plans efficiently
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach with strong critical thinking skills
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in an outpatient setting, ensuring safety and quality
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and health histories
- Administer medications, injections, and treatments as prescribed
- Educate patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatments, and follow-up care
- Coordinate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Document all patient interactions and clinical information accurately and timely in EMR systems
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies
- Participate in continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Minimum of 1 year nursing experience, preferably in outpatient or ambulatory care settings
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional ethics
