Requirements & Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of North Dakota
- Proven experience working in Labor & Delivery or Women’s Health nursing
- Ability to provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum stages
- Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to respond promptly and effectively in emergency situations
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods, ensuring safety and comfort
- Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, interpreting data to guide clinical decisions
- Administer medications and assist physicians during deliveries and related procedures
- Educate patients and families on childbirth, postpartum care, and newborn care best practices
- Document patient information accurately and timely in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
- Collaborate closely with healthcare team members including obstetricians, pediatricians, and support staff
- Maintain sterile environment and follow infection control practices rigorously
Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Dakota
- Experience in Labor & Delivery nursing preferred
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced clinical settings and provide high-quality care under pressure
