Shift & Schedule
- Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg GCU
- Location: Kearney, NE
- Schedule: Various shifts available — day, evening, and night (specific details provided upon application)
Requirements & Skills
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Nebraska
- Proven experience in Medical-Surgical and/or Geriatric Care Unit nursing
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to provide compassionate and effective patient care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to Medical-Surgical and Geriatric patients according to established nursing standards and protocols
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor patient progress, report changes in condition, and implement appropriate interventions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families regarding care plans, procedures, and health maintenance
- Document all nursing care and patient interactions thoroughly and timely in compliance with policies
- Maintain adherence to infection control procedures and facility regulations
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing program
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Experience in Medical-Surgical and/or Geriatric nursing is preferred
- BLS certification current
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
